GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THREATS SENT TO DONEGAL SCHOOLS

Gardaí are investigating after a number of schools across Donegal received threatening emails today, Wednesday 14 October.

The emails are part of a wider incident involving schools throughout Ireland.

Gardaí are assessing the threats and working to establish their credibility.

The Department of Education has advised that schools can continue operating normally unless Gardaí instruct otherwise.

At present, there has been no public confirmation of which Donegal schools received the emails, or whether any schools in Inishowen were affected.

We understand that reports like this will be worrying for parents, particularly with schools due to reopen following today's strike.

Parents are encouraged to follow official updates from their children's schools and An Garda Síochána and avoid sharing unverified information.

We will keep our readers updated as further confirmed information becomes available.
